I have been teaching in Rutherford County since 2003, beginning as one of the original teachers at Siegel High School. In 2016 I made the change over to Oakland High School. I currently teach Spanish II Standard and Honors. I am also the sponsor of our school's sign language club. In this club I will be teaching American Sign Language and Deaf culture to interested students once per week, Wednesday mornings for students new to signing, and Wednesday afternoons to those who have had some experience with it. By the way, ASL is actually now considered to be a world language by the Tennessee Department of Education!
I grew up in the small town of Waverly, located to the West of Nashville, near the Tennessee River. I attended college at Martin Methodist College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Middle Tennessee State University, where I graduated with my Bachelor Degree. Throughout this school year, I look forward to helping all of my students reach their full potential as they continue on their journey through the Spanish language. Please send me an email if you have any questions throughout the year.
